Frequently asked questions

What groundworks do you carry out?

Excavation, foundations, ground beams, slabs and drainage, together with site enabling and hoarding works at the start of a project.

What is deep drainage?

Deep drainage is foul or storm drainage laid at a depth where the trench needs engineered support, or where a shaft and heading is the safer method. We install the runs and manholes and make the connections to the existing sewer.

Do you make connections to public sewers?

Yes. Sewer and storm connections are part of our structural works. A connection to a public sewer needs the approval of the sewerage undertaker, which for most of London is Thames Water, and work in the highway needs the consent of the highway authority.

Do you carry out site enabling and hoarding works?

Yes. Both are part of the structural works side of the business.

Do you supply ground shoring?

Yes. Ground shoring systems and shoring designs are available through our plant hire side.

What do you need to price groundworks or drainage?

The engineer's drawings, the site address and the programme, with any information you hold on ground conditions and existing services. We review the drawings and arrange a site visit before we price.

Planning a groundworks or drainage project?

Send us the engineer's drawings and we will arrange a site visit.
